Safety, first and always

Built to protect your time, energy, and wellbeing.

Pull’s safety approach starts with clear expectations, powerful controls, and a community that looks out for one another.

Community guidelines

Pull is a space for kindness, respect, and consent. Harassment, hate, or manipulation have no place here. Our guidelines are written to be clear, accessible, and enforceable. We combine automated systems with human review to detect harmful behaviour, with extra care taken to avoid over‑policing already marginalized communities. When we make a mistake, we work to fix it quickly.

Every member of our community deserves to feel safe and respected. That's why we take reports seriously and respond promptly to concerns. Our moderation team reviews all reports with care, considering context and intent while protecting the wellbeing of all users.

  • Treat every match as a person, not a profile. Behind every profile is a real person with feelings, boundaries, and the right to be treated with dignity.
  • Ask for and respect boundaries—especially around photos and personal details. Consent is ongoing and can be withdrawn at any time.
  • No hate speech, threats, or encouragement of self‑harm. We have zero tolerance for content that targets people based on their identity or puts anyone's safety at risk.
  • No scams, spam, or commercial solicitation. Pull is for genuine connections, not business opportunities or fraudulent schemes.

Reporting & blocking

Report in a few taps

You can report a profile, message, or photo directly from where you see it. Add optional details to help our team respond.

Block and disappear

Blocking hides you from the other person’s experience and prevents further contact. In serious cases, we may remove them entirely.

Follow‑up and transparency

In many cases, you’ll receive a summary of the action we took—without sharing private details about other members.

Video verification

During the final step of the setup process, when you speak to the AI avatars, the system uses that video interaction to verify that you are a real person and who you say you are. This happens seamlessly as part of your onboarding—no separate verification step required.

The video verification process analyzes your appearance and voice to confirm your identity matches the photos and information you've provided. This helps reduce fake accounts and ensures the people you're connecting with are genuine. Your video data is processed securely and is never shared with other users or stored longer than necessary for verification purposes.

Date safety tips

  • Meet in a public place for the first few dates. Choose locations where you feel comfortable and can easily leave if needed.
  • Tell a trusted friend where you're going and when you expect to be back. Share your date's name and contact information with someone you trust, and check in with them during or after the date.
  • Arrange your own transport so you can leave when you want. Having your own way home gives you independence and control over your experience.
  • Keep financial details private—never send money to someone you've only met online. Legitimate connections won't ask for money, gift cards, or financial assistance.
  • Trust your instincts; if something feels off, you can end the date. Your safety and comfort are the priority—it's always okay to leave early or decline a second date.

Privacy & control

You’re always in control of how much you share on Pull. Location is generalized by default, and sensitive fields—like work or social handles—are fully optional.

You can pause discovery without deleting your account, limit who can see you, and adjust what data we can use for compatibility at any time.

Key privacy controls

  • • Pause new matches while keeping existing conversations.
  • • Hide your profile from contacts or from people outside chosen distance ranges.
